Student Senate Update 12/8
By Addison Mason
At this week’s Senate meeting, the Student Senate passed a resolution stating its disapproval of the newly implemented Furlough. It was also announced that Student Senate Vice President, Avery Williams, will be resigning from her VP position as well as Senate as a whole.
The bill in opposition to the Furlough states the senate is “sympathizing with the faculty and staff who work paycheck to paycheck and multiple jobs.” William Strack, Student Senate Treasurer, makes it clear that the RWU Student Senate does not support the university’s decision.
In other news, Vice President Avery Williams announced she would be resigning from not only her leadership role in the Senate but also stepping back completely. She shares that she has decided to resign in order to further her academic career.
